Artist to Designer to Web Developer
My formal education was in art but since completing my art school education in 2005, I've transitioned into becoming a web developer. I'm self-taught and learn from doing projects and experience. I'm curious and love to learn and try new technologies. I'm scrappy and not a quitter. I'm motivated and resourceful. I didn't become a web developer because it came to me naturally. It didn't. I had to work hard with many stops, starts, and dead ends. I've encountered lot of frustration and times where I felt like I was getting nowhere! It's hard. What I fell in love with was that I can create, solve problems, and take on new challenges every day that give me a sense of accomplishment. It's a great feeling when you plug away at a challenge and solve it.
At around 35 I landed my first job as a web designer that crossed over into coding sites when needed. Then at 39 I landed my first job as a full-time front-end web developer!
